WHAT IS FREESTYLE?
Freestyle is a measure of a core belief style system. "what do you want in snowboarding and skiing". Competition is a huge part of it because it is a widely accepted approach. We also focus on every other part of freestyle from back country, how to get speed, and how to lay down amazing carves. Everyone should learn how to throw up a solid powder spray in the face! Below are the disciplines we focus on. But they are not all we focus on.
SLOPESTYLE
participants perform tricks and jumps on a sloping course with multiple rails and jumps
SKI CROSS/BOARDERCROSS
Speed, jumps, drops, and the occasional collision—that's the essence behind boardercross
RAIL JAM
Held in the terrain park using a few rails and boxes...riders will “jam” (ride at the same time) with other riders in their heat at the same time while being judged.
HALFPIPE
A freestyle feature within two walls connected by a flat transition.
GIANT SLALOM/APLINE
GS is two timed runs through preset gates emphasizing turning technique
